San Francisco Giants World Series Parade

On Wednesday, November 3, 2010, the city of San Francisco celebrated the Giants World Series Victory with a huge ticker tape parade down Market Street (the same route the Giants took in 1958 when they first arrived in SF). The Giants defeated the Texas Rangers in five games for their first championship since the team moved west from New York 52 years ago.

The baseball gods and goddesses manifested a perfectly warm and sunny California day. Culminating at the Civic Center, was a sea of orange and black humanity about a million people strong. It was an awesome experience and I felt like I was at the center of a magical baseball universe.

Matt Cain, powerful Libran Giants pitcher, pitched a truly remarkable post-season. On October 28, he pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings in Game 2 of the World Series to become the fifth pitcher to pitch at least 20 innings in the postseason without allowing an earned run. His total post-season stats of a 2-0 record, with a 0.00 ERA through 21 1/3 innings pitched helped the Giants win their first championship in San Francisco.

Ebullient Gemini Tim Lincecum. Tim pitched in both Games 1 and 5 of the World Series, earning a win in both. His victory in Game 5 ended the Giant's 56-year drought between championships and also gave San Francisco its first baseball world championship in history. Lincecum also became the franchise leader for wins in a single post-season with 4, two of which coming in the World Series. Nicknamed "The Freak" and "The Franchise" Tim is a 2 time Cy Young Award Winner.

Exciting Aries Buster Posey, Giants catcher, won the National League Rookie of the Year award in addition to being a World Series Champion! Jupiter in Aries has been very kind to him.

Playful Leo Pablo Sandoval, Giants infielder, affectionately nicknamed Kung Fu Panda, revels in the parade.

Joyful Sagittarius Aubrey Huff, and his lucky red "rally thong". During the Giants' 2010 playoff race and postseason, Huff became known for wearing a red "rally thong." This was Huff's first ever, and long awaited playoff experience. On November 1, 2010, the Giants clinched a 4-1 series victory in the World Series giving Huff his first World Series Ring..

Spiritual, yet quirky Pisces Giants closer Brian Wilson. While on a road trip at the beginning of August 2010 he grew a thick beard, which he began dying black at the start of September. During the Giants' playoff run, fans adopted the battle cry "Fear the Beard."

Amidst a sea of orange and black confetti, enthusiastic Aries Giants Manager Bruce Bochy proudly displays the World Series trophy.

Willie Mays, is a very persevering Taurus. This former Giant great, and 24 time All Star, is considered to be the best all-around players of all time.
